CREATION: The Flood

It was no small matter that Adam purposely went against the clear and explicit command of his Father. While it was not quite of the order of Lucifer's rebellion, which took place within the gates of the Heavenly kingdom, it was nevertheless a most tragic event - as was demonstrated very soon afterward, with the violence committed by Cain, their firstborn. But what of the other consequences? Aside from having to leave Eden, and seeing much sorrow in their lives, Adam and Eve also had this against them now, that the "wages of sin is death." (Rom 6:23) Adam did indeed die (Gen 5:5) and death passed also unto all his offspring. Now that sin was present in the universe, however, the effects would be much greater than just this. Not only death, but destruction was soon to follow, and this on a global scale.

On that day, a great many things changed, and even today the aftershocks are still being felt, and remain poorly understood. Not only Adam's sin, but Lucifer's also was to reveal more of its effects upon the delicate surface of the once perfect creation. It was a dark day indeed, and a fitting model for the destruction by fire which will make an ultimate end to sin.
