National Law Journal New York Jul 30, 2001

Abstract:

"Reed v. Mineta" is discussed, in which a Denver federal jury awarded $2.25 million to a former air traffic controller who was fired for refusing to work on the Sabbath. The jury concluded that employers may not force religious worshippers to work on the Sabbath if it is against their "sincerely held religious belief."
