AN OPEN LETTER
TO OUR SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST FRIENDS and FAMILY
First: January 1997 - Revised and updated: July 13, 2000

In response to--
Adventist Review, Newsbreak, October, 1996:
"Adventist Church Wins Trademark Case."
and,
Adventist News Network, January 17, 1997:
"Court Ruling for Name Trademark for Seventh-day Adventist Church Upheld"
and,
"the voice of the dragon"
in Walter E. Carson's letter dated 6 November 1996,
to the Rogue Valley Historic Seventh-day Adventist Church, requesting them to discontinue using the name "Seventh-day Adventist" in identifying their church and in their communications.
and,
Finally, in protest to--
the SDA Trademark Trial of General Conference Corporation vs. Eternal Gospel Church of Seventh-day Adventists:
"Almighty God hath created the mind free ... all attempts
to influence it, by temporal punishments or burdens, or by
civil incapacitations ... are a departure from the plan of the
holy author of our religion, who being Lord both of body
and mind, yet chose not to propagate it by coercions on
either, as was in His mighty power to do."

-- Thomas Jefferson

Many of you have received written materials or e-mails explaining our position on the "trademark church name"(Seventh-day Adventist) controversy. Most of you, however, probably do not know much about this matter. Trivial as it seems to be in the minds of your leaders, this contest involves principles vital to our salvation, andwhich relate to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, especially "the [trade]mark [name] of the beast" (Rev. 13:17),and the wrath which is to be poured upon those worshipers of the beast "whosoever receiveth the [trade]markof his name." Rev. 14:11. If you have not been a diligent Bible student, you surely will have difficultyembracing this present truth. Jesus said that the delusions of the last days would "deceive, if possible, the veryelect" (Matt. 24:24). The "judgment of the living" is in progress, and you are being called to accountabilitynow! "Behold, the Bridegroom! Come out to meet Him." Matt. 25:6.

A CRITICAL DECISION: If you agree with the "General Conference Trademark Policy," you receive "the [trade]mark of the beast"in your forehead. If you disagree with this papal technique of control, and yet lend your support to it by yourtithes, offerings, and church membership, you receive "the [trade]mark of the beast" in your hand. Before Godpronounces your final destiny (by either blotting out your name or your sins from the records of Heaven), youmust have the opportunity to make an intelligent decision in this controversy between the policies of men and"the commandments of God." You see, my friend, there is a "corporate accountability" in the judgment which can notbe safely ignored.

This, my beloved, constitutes the final test for God's people with respect to "theSabbath of the LORD thy God," the fourth commandment of the Decalogue. The papal "trademark churchname" erects a "false sabbath" which you now worship, albeit ignorantly. Please do not become willfully ignorant!

If you do not understand how and why the above is so, I invite you to visit our web site, following each linkand reading prayerfully the Bible principles supporting our claims. We are pleased to answerany of your questions regarding the related issues. We shall also supply copies of documentation upon request.

Have you come to experience the "rest of Jehovah?" Heb. 3:15-4:11. Do you know that "your life is hidwith Christ in God?" Col. 3:3. Do your lips declare that you have gained the victory over every sin? (see Rev. 12:11.) If you have not gained this faith experience, you must make haste to be thoroughly converted. Thosewho have had great light and yet, failed to come up to every test, shall suffer morewrath in the day of judgment, because of their accountability before God. You professto be a Seventh-day Adventist-- a member of "the Israel ['overcomers'] of God."

"And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
--Luke 12:47, 48.

We invite you to stand faultless in the present judgment and cease being "partakers of her sins" so that you mayavoid receiving of her plagues (Rev. 18:4). You have victory over all sin "by the [precious] blood of the Lamb, and by the word of [your] testimony; and [because you] loved not [your] lives unto the death [of self]." Rev.12:11. We beseech you to choose the name of our Father to be written in your forehead, refusing to receive "the [trade]mark [church name] of the beast." Won't you accept the rest which is freely given by our loving Creator? Will you not settle into the Sabbath of His Rest both intellectually and spiritually, so that you cannot be moved? Ours prayers are in your behalf without ceasing. We hope to hear from you, since the 144,000 will be gathered into one fold and perfectly united. Praise be to "YAH Our Righteousness!"

Your Devoted Servant,

Walter "Chick" McGill
Pastor, The Creation 7th Day Adventist Church

"The word of faith and power was upon his lips, and his whole life was devoted to the work of reform. His was the voice of one crying in the wilderness to rebuke sin and press back the tide of evil. And while he came to the people as a reprover of sin, his message offered the balm of Gilead to the sin-sick souls of all who desired to be healed . . . He longed to see them brought to repentance before they should go to such lengths in evil-doing as to provoke the Lord to destroy them utterly. . . Elijah made no apology for his abrupt appearance. A Greater than the ruler of Israel had commissioned him to speak . . .." Prophets and Kings, pages 119-121.
